A New Beginning

Richard Alawaye
Evangelist

When your people sin against you-for there is no one who does not sin, and if they have a change of heart and repent and plead with you...then from heaven your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their plea and uphold their cause.

1 Kings 8:46, 47, 49

There is something about starting over and having a new beginning that stirs the human soul. Our God and Father is a God of "second chances". When we examine the history of God's people throughout the bible, one finds a story of restoration, revival and a return to a merciful God time and time again.

It has been exciting to see the repentance and the times of refreshing that have come about in the Central Gwinnett Ministry (formerly Lilburn Ministry) in the last several weeks. We decided to turn back to God and begged Him to restore us and to return to us. After "wandering" in the spiritual wilderness for the last few years, we have decided to cross the Jordan River and take possession of our Promised Land.

Every member is committed to building a dynamic, loving committed, multi-racial church to the glory of God in Gwinnett County and beyond. Several bible talks have started and people are studying the bible with people again not because we have to, but because we want others to know the God we serve and share how He has changed our lives. We are all in Family Groups and have other disciples involved in our lives. We understand that we need others if we are to arrive successfully at the finish line. The joy in the disciples have been so obvious and we have God to thank for being patient with us and not casting us aside.

The agreement to use the Meadowcreek High school Theatre for Sunday services has been signed. God-willing, our first service will be there on Sunday September 4th. Let us continue to pray and come prepared to have an awesome worship service.

In the next two (2) decades, sociologists estimate there will be over one (1) million residents in Gwinnett county. Let us start dreaming again as we see thousands of people decide to make Jesus the Lord of their lives. Gwinnett and the surrounding areas is our mission field. I still believe most of our Christian life is in front of us. God will use us to bring glory to His name.Let us dedicate ourselves totally to loving God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves, as we saturate this part of America with the good news of Jesus Christ.
